I am trying to follow the tutorial on this website: http://www.gmask.com/tutorials/wrx_tutorial/Tutorial/tutorial.shtml

Michael Thomoson does not explain how he edited this original picture:
http://www.suurland.com/blueprint_x.php?image=http://www.suurland-media.com/blueprints/cars_sports/subaru_impreza_wrc.jpg
in photoshop to come up with a 512x512 front view, a 1024x512 side and top view.

I attempted to try and edit the photo using guides, and creating a 512x512 front view, but when i pasted the front view into my 512x512 pixel image, the pasted layer was always much smaller than 512x512, so I presume he enlarged the images, but the only problem is I do not know how to keep everything proportional. ie, like how much white space I should have on the left and right of the car, and still have the same amount of white space on the left and right side of the car in the top view. All I could figure was use a bunch of guides, but I still feel this does not give me enough control.

If anyone can quickly create a front, top, and side image planes out of the image posted above, and explain how they did it, I would be extremely greatful.

cheers

Not sure but it looks like the front view is not the same scale as the side/top views. I would just eyeball it.

Or maybe you could crop to just the front/side/top, then scale that to 1536x512, then crop out 1/3?
