View Full Version : Scene: Flat Face: Pickler
Dodgeas3d 04-29-2004, 04:04 PM My newest work has came to a day light! Technicaly it is very complex, couse of use some (heavy) features like: Area shadows, Global illumination (GI), Depth of field (DOF), glossy reflections and etc.. I experienced enormous render times with it, thought it will never be finished. Scene contains quite large amount of glass (refraction) and high polygon count for models (among 2mln. polys) to achieve smooth surfaces. Of cource I could optimize to a minimum but I didnt want to
Hope u will like it!
Soft used: 3Dstudio MAX R6.0, Brazil r/s 1.2, photoshop 7.0, CorelDraw 11.

It's very hard to see what's going on because of all the blur, reflections and transparency. It looks like an awesome model, but the scene is lacking. Despite what you're showing, I'd like to know what I'm looking at :).

Really nice modeling and mood. It is bottling pickles? hehehe. thats hilarious. I agree that the DOF is hiding alot of detail, which would be nice to see, but really works well at focusing attention on the Robot. The pose is very mechanical (imagine that, a robot mechanical) and i think could be a tad more dynamic.
I 'd love to see it animated.
Nice work.

don't think the gi is really needed.
and if you used blurred reflections for the bust and the face mask(why are so blurred?!) you can achive the same result with a map.. if you used for the glasses.. :scream: ...area shadows.. cannot see one shadow in focus.. so not really the problem.
and for what I can see also the dof can be post processed.
however, nice idea, nice modelling.. but don't say us that it cannot be animated !!
:p
ciao
francesca
ps:: it's strange you have not put also caustics...
