Hey i liked the face in the first concept art more, but after seeing some detailing even this face starts to look good too.

I like the detail in the chin and some of the pipes inside the neck

Youre doing really precise work there. Are you sure you have the pose and all perspective in order? I would have tried to make those better.

But your detailing skills and colors are great. Just add more color tones to the face and it will look a bit more lively not just plastic. Or then again is it supposed to be plastic? I have no idea. This is atleast the machine flesh competition so almost anything goes :applause:

Man also looks like he is bit dwarfish, but they might be machine parts not bones holding him together :D

Please also tell us the story behind this man. What is he? Where is he from? What is he supposed to be doing?

There you go tiny amount of comments and critics for people in need ;)

It was the year 3507, the human race has begun to colonize other planets with gigantic generationships. One of these ships has discovered a solar system in wich a up to this point unknown metal was found in huge amounts. This metal was extremely resistant against mecanical and energetical influences and contained also a huge energy potential itself. Scientists had not yet discovered all the benefits of this metal but the small informations they gathered to this point were enough for the government to decide that its of extreme interest to occupy this system. For almost a year the colonization process of the planets in this system went without problems as suddnely a gigantic mothership of an alien race entered the system and claimed it their territory. Diplomacy wasnt able to come to a peaceful arrangement about this issue and so a territorial war began to rage. The alien Race was aware of the potentials of the mentioned Metal as well and they started to develop weapons ad spaceships long before the human race even knew it existed. So the first years the war did not run well for the humans. They had many casualities and injured soldiers. The medical science was able to modify the human body with cybernetical implants. Some seriously injured Soldiers decided to Switch their brain into a whole mecanical body, consisting of the new metal. All worked well, the soldiers in the cyber bodys were much more efficient and even if they got almost utterly destroyed only their brain had to be intact to be fitted into a new mecanical body. The only problem with the first bodys of this type was that the men could not stand to not be able to see themselves in the mirror. They went insane. This fact led the scientists to simply mount the original face over the metallic skull to make the soliers able to look in the mirror and see who they once were.

Sorry for my bad english, i wish i could it better. would have wanted to tell you the things more dramatically like i could if i wrote in german language.

As usual i hope for opinions about my story. More WIP to come also.

Thanks

David

PS: and thanks Falcor for your crits. I will consider changing the pose slightly. once i have done sketches ill post em here.

You've got some seriously good looking texture going on here in the metal and tubes...even the way the face flesh wraps up around the skull... looks great! I suppose with plastic surgery this could be a mute point, but it seems like a dude like this would have some sort of scars or damage to the bits of flesh remaining... just a thought!

Also, I love the structure of those shoulders...that's some great looking armor.

keep up the good work... I feel intimidated now! :)

ps...in the future I have no doubt that the lower classes will be sent off to mine asteroids to get their high mineral content...like Marx in space! Ha!
