This is for a wallpaper/splash screen for my web design company, Pixelday. (www.pixelday.com) (http://www.pixelday.com)

For the top pics, I was going for a snowy/compacted ice look. Modeled with a Displacement map and noise modifiers in 3dsMax. All scanline renderings. Plus some light photoshopping.

doesn't actually look like snow. looks like a displacement trying to replicate snow. i mean, your average joe could tell what you're trying to do, but it doesn't look very "real"

The materials are great as they are, IMO. Considering the subject matter, perfect photorealism doesn't seem necessary, and I was quite impressed by the style.

Neat pic. Nice work. :)

hey, I think it looks good as it is... even though its not 100% realistic, its good for what your using it for
