There's absolutely no way you got a (useful) 32.9MB video to compress down to 1.7kb(!). 1.7 MEGAbytes maybe, but not kilo.
Perhaps try recompressing to another format, and import that to Flash...

Anyway, if you really did find a process for producing a 1.7kb movie from a 33Mb source, then I'd suggest you look up the patent office immediately and then sell the thing... because I for one could really use that kind of compression. Does it work for music as well?

no in all seriousness quick time pro compressed my moive in to 1.7kb no jokes im serious i was recomended using it by some one in this forum so i though oh well ill give it a go and yeh i couldnt belive how good it was my animation didnt contain music though it was just an animation made with quick time about 3-4 second long used a few plugins like trapcode and stuff and yeh it was 33mb and i was really stressing about that becasuse i needed a file largenough for the web. anyway if you take a look here www.dinix.com see there banner it loads increadibly fast for the type of animation. so i ant the only one. anyhow can anyone help me with why my file size becomes 1.7mb in flash.
thanx alot

Which banner are you talking about? The animation on the top?
That's most likely done directly in Flash, hence the small file size. And that's exactly what Flash is for - using movies from After Effects in a Flash animation is pretty backwards for a simple banner like that.
So why not do it directly in Flash if Flash is your goal?

This new example is not a compressed quicktime. It's a standard flash animation, done quite well of course... but nothing in it leads me to believe it wasn't just done with simple vectors on top of a couple of photographs.
If your talking about the 'inspirations' movie that you can play by clicking that little button then I also believe that is not just a quicktime. It is very clever use of all the elements, if you look carefully you'll notice certain things are tiled and other movie clips are actually played again but at a different angle. Symmetry etc...
It is very well done, but not impossible to make it in about 1mb-1.5mb.
I took a look and the banner itself is 193kb... so the inpirations intro thingy is probably around the size I suggested. I can only guess though, because I can't grab the flash file to take a closer look at it. All I can say is that I don't think its just one long quicktime.

mine is alot more complicated than that its got a lot of animation and clould like movements and yeh generally very compliacated animations that flash cant handle. do you know how i can reduce the size of my flash file though.
thanx

clould like movements and yeh generally very compliacated animations ... are generally not what Flash is intended for. Therefore I suppose you have the choice between a beautiful large video file or a less complicated but small Flash file. You can't have both.
Also, may I suggest taking this to the Flash forum, as your problem obviously doesn't lie within AE...

I just happened to glance through this thread......
saw that 'inspirations' movie link.
I had seen a similar movie at hostrocket.com site (check the top banner which has a button to a similar movie).
I have used Flash for quite some time now.
Though I have After Effects, I haven't started with it seriously.
Currently, I am learning 3Ds Max
Could someone here please tell me what was used to make that 'glowing light trail' that you would see common in both the above movies?? Please, please tell me.
Is the entire thing done within After Effects? (including the text and everything else)?

If you can compress a 33mb movie to a 1.7kb movie, you are about to become the richest person in the known universe.
