View Full Version : Any affordable 2d/3d digital drawing software?
misusa 04-29-2004, 08:03 AM I am new for 2d digital drawing but have been using Alias studio tools and sketchbook pro and Photoshop a bit together at school. Studio Tools has this possibility to use actual 3d geometry such as spline curves as guides when drawing 2d images to an image plane. Now, this isnīt exactly a photoshop question (couldnīt find a specific forum for my enquiry, sorry) but DOES ANYBODY KNOW ANY AFFORDABLE (SAY, MAX 1000-1500 E) DIGITAL DRAWING SOFTWARE THAT ALLOWS TO USE 3D GEOMETRY AS GUIDES WHEN DRAWING CONCEPT DESIGN AND ACTUAL DESIGN DRAWINGS? I am not talking about any body paint type programs now. but like a Photshop/painter/sketchbook pro with a 3d guide function.
Thank You in advance

How about get a copy of photoshop elements (surprisingly good and on ebay.co.uk for about Ģ10), screengrab wings3d models and import as background layer for lighting and take it form there. Won't get much cheaper than that i think...
And it works for me!!

You might also like to check out Open Canvas (www.portalgraphics.net), it's a very small and cheap program ($35), you can download the fully functional trial version for free at the sight. They've got a great user community.

You should try Alias Sketchbook Pro for $250, I think. Yeah yeah yeah...it's alot more but man what a sweet program.
Check out www.alias.com (http://www.alias.com) and take a look at their gallery for Sketchbook Pro.....
Good luck
