Hello all,

I have completed a short film, "AVATAR: Child of Peace"

I have the film in various formats available at
Child of Peace at kanefilms.com (http://www.kanefilms.com/ChildofPeace)

I hope you enjoy it, and please let me know what you think of it.

Im glad to see you back at it, and Im glad to start off the crit. Every aspect of production was improved vastly from the last episode. If there was one aspect I would really work to improve for next time, it would be character animation.
The titles and creds seemed a titch too long, and why don't you do the main title "AVATAR" in the custom font you have for the webpage rather than the blocky sans-serif you have now? Y,know, just for next time. Altogether a proud accomplishment, especially in the small amount of time its been since Origins.
The sound effects need some boosting, I barely heard it when the prisoner got smacked, and I didnt hear any footsteps or clothes-rustling.
Also, check your link... there's just a tiny mistake in it: "ChildpfPeace."
love,hen

Pretty cool.

Much improvement as well. Mad props.

One thing I noticed though that kinda bugged me was when the guy was beating him, it looped all weird.

Thanks for the comments so far.

I've gotten alot of feedback from people who actually preferre the 'flat faced' AVATAR from ORIGINS instead of the actual face in this one.

Now that you mention that, I did like the "unknown" face better.

See, that is odd. I though for sure that everyone would appreciate the subtle facial movements of the real face over the blank face version. There was no other way to pull off the subtle little smile during the Shhhh scene anyway.

The character animation needs a lot of improvement. When the characters walking, it seems they are floating. And also, when the bad guy went out of the door on the "Day 1", the motion should have strong energy(anger) in it. The door's motion also need to follow this energy.

Also when the Avatar arrived in the jail, the guy was facing down the floor and was not moving, I think he should be moving at least showing some pain and frustration with his body when the Avatar was talking to him.

I like the mood of the scene and composition. Keep working on the character animation and you will be great someday.

Thanks for the crits. Much appreciated. Especially the encouragement.

Each film I try to improve at least 1 skill, this next one will be to better the character's movements, perhaps during a fight scene or such.

I still don't understand what the hell is going on in these things.

I gotta say though, this is a vast improvement over the original. The animation still needs massive amounts of work. I'm also assuming that you got the new models from somewhere else? Yes?

Actually don't answer that, because it'll just bump your thread up again. Let the thread die.

It's for the good of the nation.

El Maistro: The Child of Peace film is available as a MOV or WMV. So you will need either Windows Media Player 9 or Quicktime 6. Make sure you have the latest versions of the players and you should have no trouble.
