hi again. update on the head.. done with it for now.. time to move to body.. i am going to add things and tweak the head.. but i need to move on first
btw.. does modeling just take a long time? or are there certain techniques to speed up the process?
on with picture :)

Modeling sure takes me a long time. Though some people can plow through a whole character in hours and its perfect. Im not one of those yet ;) Ive already spent many sleepless night working on this challenge. Coffee and cigarettes and a little bit of food and im set. LOL Like right this moment i can hear the crows outside welcoming the sunrise with their squacking noises.

I guess there are certain techniques but i think most of speed comes with practice. A good sketch as a template goes a long way into saving time ive found

ok crits: theres something a little strange about the nose with too much deep creace around the edge....? Or maybe its just the large nostrils. Im not sure how valid this is I need some sleep. Maybe someone else thats more awake can agree or disagree with me on this ;) rest looks like a great start

good start! But the suface around the noise looks a little strange to me!

I like it!
I really like how it's coming along.
The rib cage and facial character.
Look forward to seeing it "bear weight".

Hey Nicodemus. I'm really sorry I have missed this thread 'till now. You have some amazing modeling going on there man. I like the saggy, folded skin you're making. It almost makes the beast look waterlogged or mushy or something. All the details you've done so far look awesome.
I just have one question: What's up with the harness? Are you going to intersect the surfaces or something? It's just I've never seen a harness aproached this way. I'd love to see the end result of it.
Great stuff so far, sorry I don't have any constructive crits for you.

Awww... no fair! You get to go to Siggraph. I'd go, but I can't afford the airfare or the accomodation. (Have you seen the Aussie dollar next to the US? Yikeys!)

Model is really coming along. Well done indeed! The head especially.
I go to sleep now...

Hey, I really like the final renders! I do wish you had put the same amount of detail into the cart as you did into the beast. The cart just looks like a cube. :p

Nice looking BoB!

hey thanks levius and pearson!
this was my first entry which was a great experience... but it alittle difficult to manage the time.. with all the other things i could/couldnt control in my life :p
and aboooouut the cart :D rofl... i ran out of time on that
originally i wanted to make this a swamp creature.. which i did with the long grass and water logged, sogginess of the BoB... and i wanted him to be pulling a catapult that was stuck/sinking.. but i ran out of time decided to focus on the BoB and Harness and put a makeshift catapult stone cart .. but next challenge i will definately be up to speed and be able to finish !
thanks again guys!

Great model Nikodemus. You probably could have done without the grass, because it hides parts of the great beast!:D

Well done!
