question: why use vray when u have mental ray?
also for the C&C, looks a bit to clean, can't put my finger on the clean part.. but well.. it's just clean.. post a wire, you might get more C&C then...

Thanx for comment
I`ll render this picture in Mental Ray an we see.
I planned to render this picture in MR but my friends adviced me to render interiors in Vray.

I think it looks great, but two comments:
The lamp looks a little bit too big, it nearly fits.
The door (or whatever that is on the left) looks less straight :P
And of course, imperfectness makes CG perfect.

Thanx The Lamp was more bigger than now so I scaled it a bit I`ll think to scale it more.

thats a sweet render, man :)
nevertheless its much to clean. even "clean" things are not as clean as your things are.
as ZB-Rob said before its the imperfectness what makes CG-Stuff looking perfect.

You should apply a velvet material to the red cousins. Let create a simple shader network using a ramp function to the camera facing. Or use an OrenNayar shader at worse.
About lighting, sure Vray made is easier... But I think you could make is a more interesting exercice by lighting the scene your self ;) Lets say the stool of this great tutorial ( http://www.warpedspace.org/Tutorial_Files/TutorialBIG.htm ) is the white little table at the center of your scene. Lighting through simple material would also be less time consumming at rendering.
