An mechanical company has tried to send me some files to edit as .STEP

Has anyone heard of that file format? I think it may be some kind of CAD file, but I can't be sure.

Does anyone know if there is a way to import such a file into Maya 5?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You cannot do it directly into Maya ask them to send you a IGES file instead with the b-splines option ticked.
