hmm...there used to be something called "jag" yonks ago....but never really bothered with it. A little blur/smudge is close, but i know what you mean, its not the same. Not really an issue so much these days with me...are you running into this a lot?

I don't face that problem very often, specially nowdays, but when I do, I do the same as Halo (blur/smudge), if the problem is only in the borders then I select the borders only and then I apply a very low value of gaussian blur.

See ya,

Work in a higher resolution. Downsize the final output for web or screen usage.

Try out...

Filter > Stylize > Diffuse (mode=Anisotropic)

I love that filter : )

Yeah, always work higher res than you need, if you can.

not entirely sure i follow the question, sounds like you have isolated pixels you want removed. if i were you try using the Dust & Scratches filter, it's basically a more advanced RIP filter. as for is there AA in photoshop... well an aa filter is Blur, or Blur More, or Gausian Blur too really, and of course as other have suggested work larger than you need and scale down.

Depending on the version of photoshop, why not try the "heal" tool? I've found that quite handy lately.
