hi there!
i wanted to try out an ocean shader material just to get a nice background for my rendering. so i mapped the ocean on a nurbs surface and adjusted the values and environment until it looked farly realistic.

when i tried to modify the cvs of the plane, the material appeared to be mapped as projection, not as normal mapping. so the displacement and foam was streched and repeated itself in vertical direction. i thought nurbs have their own way of normal maping!? how can i turn this projection of? is it a material or a mapping attribute?

thanks for your help

Whenever you apply a texture you can choose Normal. However, whenever you move a CV on a NURBS surface that is going to effect that Parameterization of that surface, which in turn changes your UV's. You can't just pull CV's around and not expect the texture to be stretched if the spans get too far apart or squished together.

my problem is:
the ocean shader is not a texture, it is a material containing a texture at some point. this texture can't be remapped whatsoever - it's not even visible in the attributes or the hypershade. and this texture is a projection. do you know how to access the ocean texture in the ocean shader material to change it from projection to normal?

thanx anyway!
