These are some renders of a model I made for an independant study. Let me know what you think.

its coo. I think the blue background with white outline hampers the effect. And the model is a little too smooth, but still works anyways.

Thanks for the comments, yeah, I threw the background in there pretty quick as I was running out today...probably isnt the best. I used Max 6 w/ VRay Free to render.

nice. I like the back and stomach quite a bit.
But overall it could use some improvement. If you actually wanted to make the venus de milo, you would need to redo the face, and essentially be a master at anatomy.

I'm sure you've looked at many reference images, but it can't hurt to post one for comparison:

You made a nice sculpture, but unfortunately you are mimicking the work of a master and the difference is quite clear.

A simple thing to fix is to actually plant the feet on the ground so they don't float.

BTW, that green knight in your gallery is pretty sweet

Hmm.. well you made the breasts much larger and she looks much older in the face. The line across the stomach is also a bit too sharp.

Thanks for the replies -

GOON - Thanks for the ref. image. In truth, this ended up being kinda a rushed job at the end of the semester. The final product is actually a non-smoothed (so you can see the triangles) version on a layer over pictures of the actual sculpture...(god knows why, I got talked into it by my art teacher...she thought it would be more powerful this way...) At any rate, it sufficed for my project (I can upload those images if people would think they're interesting - I don't particularly). And yeah, copying the masters is a pain, something I probably won't do because I don't have the patience to be as nit-picky as is required to do a good job. But thanks, and I'm glad you like my knight image.

GMASK - Yeah, pretty much the same thing as I said before, the likeness isnt really there, partly cause I didn't care enough, partly because I'm just plain not good enough yet, but at any case...something to shoot for in the future I suppose.

Thanks for the comments.
