The aim of our mod...

Green Devils: Crete 1941 is a total conversion for Far Cry.
Our aim is to tell the german air assault on Crete from May 20th 1941 to June 1st 1941 in detail and historical correct. Therefore we will create small single player campaigns depicting the battles through the eyes of various combatants (air, land & sea) of both sides. Our focus lies on an intense story.

The persons you will play are fictional while some characters are historically accurate, especially higher ranking soldiers.

Here´s a general overview about the first campaign

Fritz Baumann - Fallschirmjägerregiment 1

You are Gefreiter (private) Fritz Baumann

Prelude

In late 1939 you volunteered for service in the Wehrmacht were you served in a
AAA company as a gunner after boot. You participated in the low countries campaign.
There you were awarded the iron cross second class for downing a british bomber with
your 8,8 gun. In late 1940 your unit is stationed near the english channel. At this time
you decide to volunteer to the Fallschirmtruppe. You were accepted for service as a
paratrooper and received order to report at Fallschirmschule 1 at Wittstock/Dosse on
february 3rd 1941.

Chapter 1 - Paratrooper training

The next six weeks you learned what it means to become a paratrooper and experienced
the toughness of paratrooper training. After this training you were transfered to
3rd company Fallschirmjägerregiment 1 were you received a short but intense combat
training. After this short period your unit was alarmed and transfered to the balcans
in preparation of operation mercury.

This chapter will be our first step and the demo. It is loosely based upon the novel
'Red shined the sun' by Otto Zierer


Chapter 2 - Assault on Crete

At may 20th 1941 you and your comrades conducted the air assault on crete by jumping
near the airfield of Heraklion. You landed directly in a hot landing zone and in the
next few days you found yourself in the middle of severe attacks while defending a
brick yard...
