I frequently use both MAX and MAYA...
Needless to say it's quite frustrating switching between the two sets of shortcuts and viewport navigation tools :annoyed:

I feel more comfortable using the MAYA shortcuts and navigation techniques and have therefore started to Customise my MAX UI accordingly.

My only problem is the Mouse shortcuts for viewport navigation...
I can't figure out how to change them

I want the Dolly, Pan, Tumble controls in MAX
Dolly : CTRL + ALT + MMB
Pan : MMB
Tumble : ALT + MMB

to be changed to MAYAS' setup
Dolly : ALT + LMB + MMB
Pan : ALT + MMB
Tumble : ALT + LMB

Can this be done?
Has anyone got a setup like this?

Cheers

hehehe..i looked through max's hotkey options and stuff, but i can't find what you're looking for. The funniest part is that i'm a max user learning maya and i was just wondering today how to adjust maya's navigation tools to max's (as that's what i'm comfortable with). Anyway, I hope someone else has figured out an answer to your problem. good luck!

ok here's my knowledge on the subject. You cant change your mouse shortcuts in max... which does suck.. but if you have a mouse that comes with software and programable buttons... u can theoretically set them up to the keyboard shortcuts to make them do what u want....

that does suck :thumbsdow

I had a look at the Discreet Forum and it seems you can't...unless you want to re-code the program.

This goes the same for MAYA.

thedaemon - nice idea, but I can't programme my mouse buttons. After having an Optical IntelliMouse with all sorts of wheels and customisable buttons on it, I chucked it in the bin. I got sick and tired of having to press a wobbly wheel button all the time.
Went and bought myself a no frills Logitech three-button mouse(no wheel) - best investment ever.
if only they made them optical :D
