skunk184 04-23-2004, 05:58 PM hello all ...
Is it possible to see a raytrace reflection in the hypershade?? ..I am guessing this is something really simple, but I cant find it !!..... in max you have a multi coloured background so you can see your reflections and refractions ...
cheers

Nope. And you can't raytrace in IPR.
HOWEVER, if you're upgrading to version 6, there will be an Interactive Mental Ray which will do raytrace so you can check.
This is something I wish you could set in Hypershade. It would be nice to check refraction and reflection in there.
You can map a reflection map to your material and it'll show that, but it won't reflect an environment.
in fact that usually what I end up doing. just map a checker or something to the reflection color of your material and fiddle with reflection from there, then disconnect.
