This is the first time for us to join the contest. I hope we will finish it! The sketches are done by Jäger. I'm producing all day mindbending shit and the 3d work.

These are some of the Ideas which came to our minds in the last hours: The first Idea was "Santa Chaos": A devilish Santa in his traditional wagon being carried by a gigantic mutant-reindeer.
That's what I created after some time:

You need a bit of imagination (ie. there is no Santa - just his wagon).
Jäger made a sketch how this idea might develop:

Here are some other ideas:

As you see: there is no straight concept so far. We are working on that!

Thats all for now!

I like the sketch you have posted here. the whale is a close second. I think though if you do use the sketch you have here you need to make the sled on it's back bigger and add lots more stuff on its back.

Looking for more sketches? Jäger produces like hell!
Here we go:

We think it's too usual, too cowlike. What do you think?

And the Santa Infantery is nearly finished:

Backpack and weapon is still missing.
More coming soon!
Desu!

Here is Jäger's final sketch for Rudolf the reindeer:

OMG... looks like his nose is going to be red - with the blood of the innocent!

Sorry - got a bit carried away, very original concept, especially for such an established character...

Looking forward to seeing the model! :D

Great sketches! As far as the head sketch, it looks more like a Bison than a cow style face. However, if you keep the body style that you have in the first sketch I don't think it'll be a problem.

That rudolph sketch is awesome. He looks reaady for wresltle-mainia 3000. :D

We worked on the story behind our reindeer:
The story takes place nowadays. Santa Claus is dead!
Children stopped believing in his existence and thus took away the essential energy he needed to live. Rudolf his loyal reindeer is still alive but also suffers from the lack of disbelief. In the course of the years his mind turned insane and his appearance changed to monstrous creature. With the corpse of Santa Claus tied to a stretcher Rudolf continues the hopeless task: to prove his masters existance. Will he succeed before decay wiped away the last traces of his existance?

HO HO HO! Merry X-Mas!

Looking forward to see how this one turns out, the stare alone is its already looking quite scary, if the body is half as good ...

Thanks for your comment Gollum (at least one!)
I've been working on the forelegs and would be happy about some critics :wavey: because I'm quite unsure whether the muscles look ok.
BTW: it's great fun to participate this contest!

I just couldn't resist :p

I want to have this as a thumbnail on the WIP collection page. Any Idea to change my thumb from .jpg to .gif?

psycho-rudolph looks incredably awesome. Great modeling on that. As far as changing the pic from jpg to gif, you'd have to get one of the mods to change the WIP thumnail page's link to the new image file...unless you make it an animated jpeg. Then all you'd have to do is name it the same as your old one (with the .jpg extension) and over-write the old pic on whatever site/server you have it stored.

I hope to finish "Psycho-Rudolph" (I like that Zr0-1!) at the weekend since there is also "Dead Santa" who wants to be modeled!
I try not to bother the mods with red shiny noses :) So: animated Jpeg? Never heard of that! I know MotionJpeg but the extension would be mjpg. Which programm can create animated jpegs?

Just wanted to say that the model is coming along really nicely!

There's something endearing about that grimacing reindeer (Pain-deer?).

I have been working on the burden. In our case burden means "Dead Santa" on the stretcher. This is the sketch:

The stretcher is nearly finished. Tomorrow I will work on Rudolf's harness. As you can see Rudolf himself is some kind of "complete". There are lots of things I would like to work on but time is too short. Until Santa is finished I will stop working on the Reindeer.
Bye!

I must admit that I am not modeling fast enough. I will definitely not finish this one in time but I am fighting till the end nevertheless!

Thanks -Oz-!
Oh man. I was not able to finish the reindeer. But nevermind: this is my final. I wanted to model a Santa but what you see here is nothing more than a dummy. And I also wanted to composit some footsteps on the ground. But mhhh... in Germany it is now 5 o' clock in the morning I am damn tired....
