View Full Version : Glass shader using maya software

Hey, im trying to make a glass shader using just the maya software renderer.. and i can get an alright look (nothing great) except that it wont render the inside of the glass, i have more glass inside the glass but it just wont render

think of klein bottles..

It renders black or doesnt render at all?
If it renders black so you I think you're using raytracing refractions right? You could fix this by increasing your Refraction Limits from both the Material and Render Global.

actually it only renders like the first layer of the glass... i can see through it like normal glass, but i cant see IN it... its not the model, because ive gave it to a friend of mine to try it in a different renderer and it works fine..
