I am using lightwave with messiah studio1.5 and the butterfly net render solution from luquiddreamsolutions.
When I render a scene via butterfly net render there is no displacement rendered for the objects. When I render the same scene in lightwave everything is OK.
Are there any experiences.
I need some help.

As far as I know you may be the only one using that for rendering. I was unaware that that solution was even available seeing as no real announcement was ever made. Last I heard was that a solution was being worked on that allowed one to use butterflynet to render with. So it works huh? How? Is there a plug on something that lets you render from messiah?

No idea what could be causing your problem though. I assume your frame renders fine in messiah by itself?

Try baking the objects out with point oven lite and apply the MDD's using the MDplug. If this works then it is definately a problem with the way you have set up messiah on your farm.

Another thing to try would be to render it on your machine but with LWSN in a command prompt. That way you can see what it is missing.

Qslugs, I don't believe he said he was using Messiah render with Butterfly net render. :p

Thanks alot for the answers.

I just use messiah for rigging and animate my characters, not for rendering at the moment. Butterfly NetRender is a fantastic solution for rendering with LW and it works great...except motion of messiah animate.

I use as well point Oven Pro and I will try the way you mentioned.
But with the point Oven reader plugin I have problems with the displacement maps, because the Subdivision order has set to last and then my displacement is not rendered. When I set the subidivision order to Before Bones it works.

I will make some further tests.

Best regards.

It works!!

I'd have to copy the messiah folder in the in the netlightwave folder where the lwsn.exe and the other files are.

Best regards.

I think he was talking about using Butterfly to control Screamernet with Lightwave scenes that use Messiah:Displace.

I do it all the time. Its just a matter of getting your plugins in the right place. Paul Lord at Liquid Dreams is REALLY good at explaining how to get everything working right.

Actually, here's the deal.

I asked Lyle about doing network rendering in messiah back in december. He mentioned that there was a plugin being worked on for messiah rendering via butterflynet and it would be available shortly. That was the last I really heard. Maybe I misread his answer but as far as I know butterflynet has been available for Lightwave for quite some time. I am quite positive that wasn't what he was talking about. Also, there was mention way back when of network rendering support in messiah, but no statement has really been made regarding a final solution for that issue. The reason I initially brought up the question was that I wanted to render using messiah's renderer for a project which required more horsepower than my one licensed messiah system could produce.

And Wegg, thanks for the advice. I got i working fine. No issues with screamernet and messiah. Although it would be way better if I could be able to network render with messiah's renderer.

Hi Mike,
You heard me right. Paul Lord is working on messiah support. He and I have been working together to make this happen. When it's ready for prime-time, Paul will definately post some info.

Yeah, I was fairly certain about your last contact. I was actaully slightly hesitant even posting that tidbit however I wanted info damn it! :) Any info is great info at this point, I cant wait to really use the renderer. Looking for more beta testers? hint hint... Anyway the taron renders on the other thread look incredible. I can't wait to see what you guys pull together for the next update.

Then I guess it was a good thing I took a little break today to post some images:D

Sorry, the window for new beta testers has passed. The good news is that we're in the final stages of release. However, while we're very close, I'm not going to give any predictions on availability. We'll post info here and our site when we're ready to roll.

Glad you like the images:)
