View Full Version : bright orange?
rob rhodes 04-22-2004, 12:09 PM hello, ive been wondering about this for a while. How can i get a bright orange colour in photoshop? Like the orange phone company colour - for all you brits! I have tried pantone and still can't find a real neon orange they all seem to be on the murky side - could it just be my monitor? has anyone else had this problem or is it just me!
i have photoshop 7
Thank you, rob.

You could either find the color in a color palette, sample the color from a reference, or create a base color and tweak it with color ajusts, like Hue/Saturation, Levels, etc.
Now, if you need something like real neon, like a glow you can try to use a duplicated layer of subject with a bit of blur and some transfer mode that gives you the effect.
Cheers ;)

try using the pantone orange...... the double clicking on color to bring up color selector bar...... now slide the 'arrow' on the color strip/bar whatever you wanna call it closer to yellow......

Pantone 805 = Day glow Orange
or
Pantone 811 = Slightly Darker Dayglow Orange.
This is basically your "hunters" orange.

Most likely, you will not be able to print or view that color on the monitor. Most neon colors are not in a gamut of CMYK color or RGB Color. The only real way to do it is to screen print with that specific pantone ink that you chose.

Just an FYI, I have a Set of Pantone "chips" so that pantone color wasnt from the screen, but is the VERY neon Orange.
