Dude, never mind the interior. At least you took the effort to actually create an interior. I never seem to get that far. And the rest of the car looks great too. Very cool

Hi Sabaman,

As usual high standart. The model is just perfectly done, very clean.
So about critics, nothing to say. But how about modeling something not so extraordinary, for example a city car? 2 seats, short and high?
I would like you to do something spectacular with an ordinary car. How is that?

Again, nice work,

Calado

Very nice car.

My one picky comment is that the passenger side mirror, most likely would not be visible from the drivers seat. :)

The modeling and concept are awesome other than that little picky thing. :)

I love your design. It looks like an integrated wing/spoiler on the nose of the Kater. And your lighting is so realistic. Show us the wires. Oh, and I want one in forest green with black racing stripes! Where are my mannors...please?

sabaman
04-22-2004, 08:49 PM
thanks alot people,

more renders youll have to wait a lil longer, ill post the wire in a few,

calado, those kinda cars arent really to my tastes you know, hehe, maybe a coupe sometime,

Cynical_Saint, good point man, thanks, ill keep that in mind next time,

JTD, i can give you one in forest green but ill have to pass on the stripes, applying uv messes up the mesh for some reason,
ill post the wire in a sec,

thanks alot guys,...

You know I always think your work is fantastic! Not really my kind of car, but that's entirely opinionated - and for what you set out to do you did it perfectly!

sabaman
04-23-2004, 12:22 PM

Very nice car again sabaman !

No offence, but why won't you just go and make something not-carish ( ;) ) for a change ?

xsilentpepe
04-23-2004, 09:05 PM
I think i love your "clay" render much more than the color render.

Skyraider3D
04-23-2004, 11:07 PM
That's a great model!!! Nice detail! The materials aren't doing the model justice though. The paint has a strange "thick" feeling to it, making it look a bit like a toy car. It doesn't quite match up the crisp feeling of the mesh. I hope you know what I mean. Try tweaking the materials some more, and render it in a realistic environment, and you've got a Killer Kater! :)

PS. Rotjeknor, waar leg dat dan? ;)

sabaman
04-23-2004, 11:43 PM
thanks alot,

pjanssen, i dunno man, im just obsessed with cars, concept cars you know, its what i like to do,

skyraider3d, i get what you mean bout the paint, like it kinda looks like its 0.5cm thick yeah this also some has to do with the compression, i have the non compressed files and those are far more crisp, but i dunno, im not too good at these materials thing so when i learn how to make some nice paint, ill tweek it, about the environment, i dont like environments man, i like studio shots, nothing but car car car,

oh, and rotjeknor is the centre of the universe, we all know that heheheh :-p

heres 3 more renders,..

damn you,, Saba bro, as you know, this just blows my mind, its clearly one of your best pieces, not only the model and the design but shows clearly that you are making this hard on me to keep up. :buttrock:

now I will not sleep tonight till I get something started tonight that can compete with this. I hope. lol

its sexy like old 60's race cars but with the modern clean forms you would see on an Enzo. very awesome man.

its everything I want in a car, modern and classic.

ToddD
04-24-2004, 01:47 AM
That is f@ckin sweet Saba! It reminds me of a gt 40 in a way. My only gripe is the front section looks a little out of place. I think the rest of the car is so dynamic, the front bumper looks a bit odd for my taste, Exceptional work I love the detail around the windows and engine bay!!!!!!

04-24-2004, 01:18 PM
****ing awesome is really all that i can say!

it wouldve been nice to see a car emblem on the hood and rims.

sabaman
04-26-2004, 02:18 PM
thanks alot people,

Tbonz816, yeah, i sorta had a gt40 feel with this car too, about the front, had more comments on this but was a mix of liking it or people disliking it, but imma just stay with it cuz i like it,

nobrain, thanks man, had multiple suggestions of emblems and logos, i guess il have to start workin on one,

hv2, Vray, is it that much better? and hdri, i hate hdri, i prefer these studio shots,

frenkie, matter of opinion, i cant get enough em hehe,

king_bruce, 5 modeling days, not non stop though, renders took 3hours at first but i managed to get em down till around 1 and a half hour each,

heres the last renders of this car for now, time for a new one,

 WooooooooooooW!!! Awsome as always...
Could I ask you for a camelion Paint rendering? I guess it should look great with a camelion paint like this:

http://shadowkeeper.no.sapo.pt/B7-XR_YellowC2.jpg

Also... Are planning to model a GTS/GTR version like you did on your saleen S5?
Could you help me with materials and ilumination on my 7-XR??? I'm probably the worst on materials:blush:

Take care,

El Shadow

man dude your killin me, I love black and I love the aqua background, really adds to the color and shines nicely off the glass and paint.

so has this been on the front page.. should be,

Skyraider3D
04-26-2004, 09:46 PM
O yea, I do like the black one a lot! You've somehow managed to make the paint look a lot thinner. How did you do this? Or was it merely an effect of the colours/angles/lighting/???

How about adding two stripes over the centre now? White, red, yellow... it will look cool anyway!

sabaman
04-27-2004, 03:54 PM
thanks el_shadow, im not a fan of chameleon paint though and ive seen enough of this car allready, time to move on to a new one,

eightdecay, no front page, i guess ill have to work harder,

skyraider3d, i think the diffuse and ambient of the red paint was too far apart, gave it a long gradient if you know what i mean, the other colors dont have that big of a differnce,

stripes, i wish i could, thers some error when i apply an uv map wich screws up the mesh badly, maybe sometime in the near future, if they ever fix that bug,

oh, and el_shadow, no gtr version, too heavy right now, maybe when i have a new computer ill make one,

about the materials, do you have msn, if so, add me, my email is on my webpage,...

furo
04-27-2004, 07:47 PM
sabaman, no front page stuff is about one reason: environment missing.. pure car render not suffice here.. and,it's a terrible pity, cause your car and finished idea looks absolutely great.. that's all about your words: "i guess i'll have to work harder".. you worked just right hard,imho.. so,keep up a good work with next car, i'm curious what you'll think up.. good luck m8

aight el_shadow, added you,

furo, i get what you mean bout the no environment man, but i remember some cars with only studio shots being able to make it to the front page, anyway, you wont hear me complain cuz i got 4 stars and im damn happy with em, :-D, and thanks alot for the compliments man,
