View Full Version : Double Transfromation
jas_ho 07-12-2002, 03:58 PM Novice question here:
What are the usual causes of double transformation?
eg. grouped stuff together and moved the parent...and everything did not move together.
after binding, sometimes it double transforms too...
what is normally the main cause?
Thanks!

double transforms are caused by deformers in normal case. delete history may not be good, because you'll destroy your skinning and whole character setup with that.
double transformation is very easy to understand. lets assume you've bound a character to a skeleton. this means that all parts you've bound are driven by the skeleton. there may be parts you wanna drive just by parent these to your skelelton (most of the time the eyes). so this situation means that your skeleton is now responsible for the skin. if you now take your skin and the skeleton and move them together, or group them and then move the groupe-node, this means you'll get double transforms. why ? your skin is driven by the skeleton and the movement of the group too. so it will add together and causes double transforms.
a more easy example. you have two objects and parent one under the other one. now you select both and move them. at first place the child will get the movement from it's parent and it will get movement from your transformation too. again double transform.
hope this helps a bit to understand.
