"A part of vertebrae, several ribs and segment of lung are removed. In their place a reactor joint and sockets for wings is placed. Wings are detachable so they don’t obstruct the worker in day-to-day life. Vertebrae partially lose its flexibility after operation but flexible vertebrae in worker’s life isn’t too important, worker is not an acrobat."
That is why the wing-implants aren`t have a vogue. Originally wings-implants were used only by builders and Fans of extreme sports.

Unfortunately, wingspan stays the same. It should be not less than 10-15 square meters. The smaller wings cannot lift and hold human weight.

Technologies were improved. Now wing will consist not of a uniform cloth but from separate feathers. All joints are hidden in the rigid case, for prevention of traumas. Operation on implantation of wings has remained almost same. Only now the vertebrae does not lose the flexibility after replacement vertebras by artificial ones. Now wings-implants are free-for-all.

As against You, flinder, I am surprised :).
Holy Canoly.... I too am suprised of the lack of response... just wanted to say t "Keep it up!!!" this looks great! and I really like the concept of the people sitting up on the ledge... really great! work it:)

I must say I am surprised that you work hasn't recieved more attention. You seem to have all the aspects down, from your concept sketches to modeling and then the texturing. Realy nice work. I'll definately keep a carefull eye on your progress.
Can u post wireframes as well? What software are you using? Are u gainfully employed as a 3d artist...
Anyway keep it up

//I must say I am surprised that you work hasn't recieved more attention.
There is nothing impressive here and nothing to discuss yet .
Because I did only elements of a picture. We`ll look that will be, when I`ll start collect them.
There should be a description of a design of a wing Here. But I do not English speaker. And it is difficult to me to write the technical text. I stoped the text when reached Terms "drive line", "rigid-compound-metal-feather ", etc. :( (I`m sorry, If terms aren`t understandable).
//What software are you using? Are u gainfully employed as a 3d artist...
Work was made in MAX with V-Ray render.
If you want to offer work I`m free as outlanser. Certainly, after competition :)

Bugs are fixed:
- Now the man's leg hip sags under weight of the woman
- Vertexes on boots have been linked uncorrectly - they followed other leg. Because of it the form of a boot disfigured oneself.
- Fingers of woman`s hand have been bent unnaturally
- The female leg became elastic and sags under man's fingers

The previous variant of еру wing didn`t arrange me. Too wide feathers near human Figure. I made a new wing. Feathers became more narrow and more gracefully. there are 145 feathers in this wing. The wing is tuned up for animation. By moving and rotation 5 bones all feathers open and close automatically. For this I had to put 178 dummy. But now it is not necessary to move feathers manually at pose adjustment.

Hi Pavel
maybe you could work a little bit on the ears, like making a hole there, and on the lips, but it´s the impression that I have when I look at the close up shots, but the test scene looks absolutely normal. Depending on the final resolution isn´t needed so many details after all, keep going

I have rendered background two times. Further one has a fog. Then I have combined pictures in photoshop with "difference" mode. I`ve got now the black-white mask. Now I can change density and color of the fog in one moment

I mixed two city views by the mask i wrote above. Add fog and clouds

I have rendered the work in 6 parts:
- cylinder with clouds
- background city
- background city with a fog (I used if to take mask and tune fog in PhotoShop)
- wings without characters (foreground was too heavy to render it completely)
- characters without hairs
- the man`s hand holding the woman`s leg (there was trouble with displacement)
Here You can see all parts combined.
Resolution of final work will be 1200x1600 (see the previous picture)

I correct gamma of the picture. I consider this is the final image. There are same mistakes in picture but I haven`t time to correct them.
I spent too much time to create the work and fogot to thing about it`s name. There are four wings and "one" body. Let it be a "Butterfly". The butterfly of love

Wow, this is epic. Very lovely stylised render and remeniscent of a lot of 70s and 80s fantasy illustrations.
Great job and quite unique!

The more I see this piece, the more I like it. It's unique in so many ways. The composition is excellent and the sense of mood, high above the clouds is great.
The kiss itself seems a bit awkward, but I can't imagine a harder emotion to try and capture than a man and woman about to kiss.
The lighting and colours are very intentional and soft... I love it.
Good luck, your definately in with a chance for that prize!!

I`d like to add to our life samething It good, light and sublime. Why should I create one more cyborg or monster? Therefore I have decided to make a love scene.
You know, Ionized, when I thought about the subject I has understood one thing. My daughter will grow up and will start to speak. One day she`ll came to me and ask "daddy, can You show what are you doing? " What will I show her? That freak of nature? That monster I have create few years ago? Unfortunately I have only one work which I can show her "the Griffinny" (You can find it here http://www.render.ru/gallery/img.php3?src=pictures%2FpLtX3c1.jpg&txt=3D+Award+Render.ru+%28c%29+GoldenGrifon+). How many works you have which people realy like and place them to background as wallpaper? "The Griffinny" is only work I realy proud.
About color. There are people can argue with you. Avoiding a dark colors in my work I have lighted up the scene. Some people wrote it would be better with more contrast collors. As to me, the contrast is just what I want.

Good day, all!
I saw my work on few other computers. It`s more bright than I reach on my own computer. :( If it seems too light to You, then cut down brightness of your monitors. This way should help.
