Sorry, This is not the game Hitman but the start of a scene for a demo reel. This is the location of a Hitman's planning area where he trains, works out and plans for the next job. It may be hard to see but there is a target range behind the camera(can see it in the refelection in the mirror).

This is just modeling with some basic lighting to show. No where near final for lighting. Really focused on making sure that most real surfaces don't have sharp corners. This way the light will pick up the specular hits on the surface.

There will be a Mercedes to follow this in the next few weeks. THe Car will be used for a final shot where the car is blown up.

Character will follow after car.

Hope you like.

Arent there a bit too many weights for just one person? i doubt he changes his strength and trainingmethods enough to justify the use of such a wide range of weights.

Great modelling though !

I like the atmosphere and the lighting a lot. The chains of the punch-bag might use a little tweaking, though?

Coming along great!

Thanks all for the comments. I can see why you might think there are too many weights but the dumbbell rack will be a key role in the final animation. Hard to describe but there is a reason. Also, this same scene will be used for demoing the rig for the character. Also going to do a rigging demo reel that uses this scene to show the muscles deformations and rig setup. All in the master plan

Both in the animation reel and the Rigging demo is the plan. The beggining shot will have him on the bench press and his laptop will signal him that he has an incoming message( No aol message "You got mail" crap. Little more covert than that.

This will not be a fast update since I'm still getting the hang of Maya. Rigging and skinning will be my main concern in the next few months. All sounds cool, just have to actually do it will be the hard part.

Here is another shot from the other side of the room that shows the target range. I see that I may have to lower the targets or make them longer. Opionons? Also shows the bulletin board that will have newspaper clippings of hits that he has done.

i think the targets look ok as they are, but dropping them a little might make it look a big better. im no expert in 3D design so my opinions may not be needed :) . Good luck with it, and keep us updated :)

Just a small update. Added a little color, no texture, just to help define the room and the objects a liitle better.

Interesting idea and concept. I'd replace some of those weights with guns or something, but as you said there's something important about them.

BTW, it's spelled Lair, as in Dragon's Lair. Not layer. I changed you title for you.

:D

UH, thanks. Been working in PS and Maya too much and using "Layers", instead lair. There's a cabinet that will have all the guns. Haven't modeled those yet. But Like I had said, the weights will be used as part of the rigging demo reel. Thanks for the comments.

Just a small crit, but the actual bench on the bench press machine looks a bit too thin to me. Also, if this is the angle that you are going to shoot from, I would personally move the really bright area of light to be a little less centered than it is or balance the intensisty just a bit compared to the rest of the room. Other than that, it looks great...very nice work.

Most benches for the press are pretty thin. Not much padding there (I've had marks on my back because of this). I could beef it up a little. As far as the lighting, It's nowhere close to final comp. There are going to be many more elements in here that when I get to the rendering stage of the animation, I'll concentrate on lighting heavily. This ligting is just to illuminate the scene. I still need to model the light sources themselves( Above, sink, one on the table and a couple in the firing range.

Thanks for the comments. Very much appreciated. Didn't expect this much response.

In the next three weeks I'll be working on a Mercedes C-Class that will be incorporated into the final animation... I get to blow it up...FUN,FUN! I'll try and post progress on that. Since I've NEVER modeled a car, this should be a challenge and will probably come nowhere close to what other people post. If it sucks, I'll have to remind people that it's going to be blown up.

Cheers
