I need help with organic nurbs modeling.:p

This is my problem.

I model or nurb half a head , leaving holes open on the bottom where the neck would come in and on the top of head wich i have a porblem closing seamlessly (problem 1) and then continue mirroring the other half making it unique ,attach the 2 etc. ...
Then the 2 together as 1 , closing the curves and apply the u loft , now this is where it creates a big mess
(problem 2)!!

I need help in closing the 2 nurb halfs together seamless.
This is my first technique in modeling and need suggestions thx all:))

Look at the pic , doing it this way one half, leaves it looking good , its only when i mirror it when it creates a mess.

peace all

I can t help you in your specifics problems with nurbs.
But what i can say is that after I 've given a try to them 2 or 3 years ago , I ' ve conclued ( perhaps to quickly(but i don 't think)) that nurbs are really to painfull an unefficient at modeling complexes shapes.

A good compromise between nurbs and polygon modeling is
Splines + suface modifier, aka surface tools.
You can achieve great models with this method thanks to the spline handles .But it s still time demanding.

Polygon modeling + mesh smooth is the best way to get what your want if you don t want to spend weeks on a good looking character and condering that after modeling you'll have a texture and a setup process ("easy" on low poly models and awfully complicated with splines even converted in patch).
Good luck

Going by a not helpful memory here but I| seem to think that the two halves are generally joined to gether by creating a blend shape between them.....not the most elegant of solutions, especially seeing as how I could never get blend shapes not to show when I used them ... just before I threw Max's nurbs back into their box where they have stayed ever since. Aplogise if you've already tried this. :)
