View Full Version : Change opacity on selection?
Levitateme 04-18-2004, 10:30 PM If i have something selected on a layer, is there anyway i can adjust the opacity of what i have selected on the layer? now i have to copy and paste on a new layer then move to the spot it was last...there has to be a better way.

there is another way involving channels and such..... just make you selection .... cut --- make ne layer and paste into ..... at least you dont have to move selection now.....

Make selection
ctrl + shift + j
lower opacity
maybe even ctrl + e to merge it back down if you are in the mood
I think that would be the easiest route.
But if you are seriously concerned with destructiveness, then Layer Mask with a shade of grey is the way to go.

Just make a mask out of the selection and then make the white parts in your mask grey...curves or whatever.....so your the selection should get transparent.........
