how can I render pictures at 300 dpi

300dpi but what's size?
If you're looking for a printed picture at 10 inches X 10 inches so you have to render to 3000 pixel X 3000 pixel

But in general you dont need to render a very high resolution. For this size i'd just render to 1000X1000 then up the resolution in photoshop.
