Hello!
I am struggling with finding a way to create animated rock carvings, if possible through 2D-compositing. It doesn't have to be perfect photorealism, but almost.
Below is still imagery of what i'm trying to achieve.

Overview.

For the moment I have a layer with animated rock carvings, white carvings against black backgr, so I can use the colour value as alpha value. This is composited, in multiply mode, over an "empty" rock. Using multiply mode, and colour correction I get a pretty nice result. I have also quite successfully used the rockcarving animation as a stencil, creating transparency in the rock, visualizing a third layer which is just a large red layer rock carving texture.
Know I wonder if anyone has an idea how to solve the "carved-in" relief effect seen in the images i posted, without having to paint manually on every frame.
Thank you!
