great progress so far :)
i would just suggest to fix the chin...looks a bit weird and may be you should also sketch his throat so that this guy looks more complete ;)

i like this! i think you just need some more hard edges. aside from the eyes, everything's a blur

to increase the effect of a light source coming from the eyes, have two different shades of shadow under the eyes. one shadow would be the same color as under the cheeks ie. just a regular shadow. the second should be that putrid green color coming from the eyes. it seems you have both there, but the darker color is just an outline, try to work on adding depth. Light green/yellow right next to the eyes and bouncing off the nose, then curves to a darker (still light though) green away from the eye. the way you're doing that would also bring the focus into the eye... good idea.

also, just as teknotek83 said, everything is blury. When you start as a rough sketch like you have, and build up detail, it's easy to stay in this ambiguous (sp?) hazy sketchy area. notice the top of the head.. the sketch has given it some shape, but no detail has been added. Try to have a clear idea of how you want, for instance, the edge of the eyebrow, and paint the detail with small (some people like high opacity too) brushes and fine detail.

hope i helped..
good progress so far from early sketches..
