View Full Version : Morphing
bibolette 04-14-2004, 04:23 PM Hello at first.
How can i realize this morphing?
What kind of Software do they use for this movie?
If you have tutorials, please let me know.

Bad link on the page. It's locally referenced. The page needs to be fixed. Here's the repaired link.

As for morphing, that could be a combination of techniques really. It could be the simple morphing of two meshes with identical vertex counts. It could also be a combination of two 3D morphs mixed with one 2D morph. Imagine the first 3D object morphing into a puddle of 3D goo. Imagine the second 3D object morphing from a similar 3D puddle of goo. Now, use a 2D morph to tween the two. This is particurly nice if the objects contain different vertex counts or vastly dissimilar topology.
It could also be a strict 2D morph, but it looks a little too complex to just be 2D.

Or even 3 3D morphs, one from logo to puddle, gold puddle to silver puddle and then silver puddle to jag.

Amorphium 3 can do this. It lets you morph between unrelated objects, vertex count does not matter.
It looks like they did 3 or 4 morph stages (a to b, b to c, c to d) to pull off the effect.
It could also be done (with difficulty) using metaballs as the in-between stages.

Thanks acmepixel!:wavey:
I try a demo from Amorphium.

realflow looks good, according to some of the examples you could do this.

hahahaha~! you are too funny. if you noticed my question on basic animation yesterday - that would have been your clue :p
here's the guy who did it, and this shows some of how he modeled the ornament anyway.
