With Photoshop, there really isn't much to it :) What you really need is an eye for colour and talent for painting (if you want to use it for painting).

I've been using Photoshop for nearly 10 years now, but I've seen loads of artists who are really new to it and yet paint much better images in it than myself.

So it's really up to the artist :) Keep working on your skills!

Guys, i felt the same way when I entered here in cgtalk!!! But i'm studying PS for 3 months....I liked it very much. Yesterday when i was surfing here in cgtalk i saw some works in PS, i became very impressionated by 'em! So i decided start to make something up in the PS! I decided to paint an Eye from the whites and empty canvas. here it's the Eye....

I used a book about human anatomy of my sister! :p

One more question: Do you always use drawing as a base for the project? Cuz, My drawing suck and I think I'm familiarized with Photoshop.
So... It would be great if I knew that drawing is not necessary for these kind of Digital Art.

The way I look at it is that Photoshop is merely a medium. Just like real brushes are in painting.
