Hi,

I use Cinema4d 8.2 and want to make a Walkcycle for my Character (human), but I don't know if it's better to let the character move forward or let him walk at the same place. I hope u understand what I mean..

When I move the Character forward I don't know how I could loop this walkcycle, but when the Character doesn't move forward in this walkcycle and I move the whole Character after I did the loops I worry it could look like Mikel Jacksons Moonwalk..

I appreciate every reply  and sorry for my bad english

Hi!

I am not a professional! but my opinion is that if you make directly character move forward it could make animation too messy! and It's much harder to edit!
If You have in your rig Locator which moves whole rig you should use it! you don't want to leave it behind
Do Walk cyckle first and then move the character!
Just check that your characters feet doesn't slip

you might get a fake feeling when you make animation with walkcyckle but it is easy to edit and put variations

thats my way to do walking but I haven't done much animation so you could make search through this forum here is lots of thereads from same subject!
