I'm in a hurry, and i need the RLA plugin, but, i don't have the CD with me (i have an office at home and here, where i'm now and it's too far too travel back right now)

For some reason Adobe decided that the amateur/home user crowd is more important than the professional industry, also, they probably think that cutting out a plugin of no more than 80KB will save space on a program that needs over 180MB to install...

If anyone would be so kind as to open up their plugin folder and give me a link i'm in your debt...

Thank you...

using PS7

Will the .8bi off a photoshop cs cd work? I doubt it

It's worth a shot...
So far it's better than nothing...

Thanks...

unfortunatly we just figured out that the RLA plugin from PS is, well, screwed up (even the PS5 plugin had this)...
Try saving a RLA in PS with an Alpha channel (it even ditches your alpha for a transparent layer when importing), then open it up in AFX (gives an error and crashes) or in Maya Fcheck (shows that the channels are garbled)

God i really hate those f-wits at Adobe...a friggin image editor of over 180MB and no usefull professional exporters...

Ahwell, i thank you for your trouble...

no probs, whats so good about rla format? Isn't there an alternative you could use? Seperate file for alpha maybe?

Why on earth are you using RLA? :surprised (well I am assuming that since it is a Wavefront format, that you need it for some Maya purposes but then why not use IFF... or even a good old 32-bit Targa?)

I copied the RLA format file from my CS disc into my Photoshop directory and saved an image using it without problems. It opened up fine in Combustion... :shrug:

Maybe it is a problem with PS7 and other previous versions?

God i really hate those f-wits at Adobe...

Then contact them and complain - it's your right as a customer. I was one of the beta testers for CS and it was actually one of the most efficient and professional testing experiences I have had (and I've had loads). I have a lot of respect for Adobe, myself :hmm:
