View Full Version : Prob with merge vertex...
Prodygy 04-13-2004, 09:27 AM Hi all! I have little question and...please help me!!!
I have modelled head and character body separately...
When i try to connect neck vertex with body vertex and then merge all these vertex...in the rendering i can see "orrible visible connection edge"! Why? I have tried many times with other polygons and there aren't visible edge, but all vertex are perfectly
fused with mesh. Please help me! Very very thx!

Make sure you smooth the polygon after merging vertices : Edit polygons - normals - soften/harden - All soft.
And if each object had different materials I think these would be retained after merging the verts, so try adding a new material to the combined object.

Thx but i have tried your suggestion without success!
For me there's something bad in the mesh. I'm desperate, if ne1 can help me is welcome! Thx!

Are all the normals pointing in the same direction and have u tried using the Polygon cleanup command.

i might be stating the obvious but have you combined the two seperate objects first in polygon> combine.
Once they are the same object you can snap and merge to your hearts content.
If i am stating the obvious and you have done this already then just MOVE ALONG ..... NOTHING TO SEE HERE....
