When I frame an object (f) - the view jumps to centre the object on screen, however the pivot when I roll/tumble the view is somewhere else.

This is really annoying and I can't work out how to get it back to the "normal" pivot behaviour.

Anyone?

I had this problem once as well, and didnīt really understand why it was happening. Maybe you could write your own frame command via MEL?

Perhaps it has something to do with the camera? A shot in the dark: select the view's camera, use Show Manipulator tool to change the pivot point of the camera... ?

We've been seeing this a lot recently too. One way I've found to fix it is to reset the camera to it's default position. After doing this it works fine again in most cases. To reset it simply use the View->Predefined Bookmarks menu and select what type of camera you are using. It doesn't work in all cases, but most of the time it resets things back to normal.

Try checking your center of interest on your camera.

If it is at some unreasonable number change it to 35.

The other thing that can make your camera act funny is z rotation.

If the Z rotation has been changed on you camera try zeroing it out.

The normal navigate does not affect the z rot.

Resetting the tumble pivot and the Centre of interest didn't work. As soon as I focussed on something else the pivot went wacky again.

The camera's Z rotation was on 360! Resetting that to zero did not fix the problem either - even though it may have been the cause.

Using the predefined bookmark did correct the problem.

Thanks to all.
