Let's suppose I have modeled a Hypernurbs object, for example a teapot or a whiskey bottle... I wanna give thickness to it, because it's only an external surface and i want to have also an internal surface... how would you work to obtain such a thing? Are there any plugins or..?

I think you will have to do alot of inner extruding/extruding....then bridging...etc...don't think there is an easy way...if there is I would also love to know about it!

What I usually do is just make another copy and scale it in with the y axis disabled then bridge the two together at the bottom and the top.Sometimes you have to bridge other areas to though depending on your shape I find :)

I just know one application for this thickness-thing.
Itīs called Geomagic and itīs really great for this
mathematical problems. I often have to give thickness
to very complex objects and there itīs easy and fast.
I think they only send the demo-versions per post but
hereīs the link:
http://www.geomagic.com/products/studio/

I use it together with cinema and Iīm very pleased with
this solution.

Y'all need to go to this page IMMEDIATELY and download MakeThicker. It's a free plugin that does exactly what you want it to do--nothing more and nothing less.

Ha! Trust me I've done the same thing myself. I've probaby got 20 plugins in my temp folder that I've never gotten around to trying out.

In fact, this thread just reminded me of the "saw" plugin, which I downloaded months ago but couldn't figure out (no english docs). Well I just figured it out and it's awesome! Basically it works just like Cutter, but you can specify where the new row of edges will be in relation to the selected edges. In other words, Cutter always puts the new edges halfway between the selected edges, but Saw lets you put them, say 10% to the right, or 75%, or whatever. Cool!

It's on the same page as MakeThicker (see above). But upon further review, it's not as good as I thought. Unlike Cutter, it doesn't turn corners.

Thanks...pitty about not cutting corners as being able to bias the cut (like LW bandsaw) would have been great.
