I got small qestion
What kind of technique are you guys using when creating small details on your models like veins? are you trying to keep quads or it doesn't matter.

i think in the time of zbrush and displacment and normal mapping their is no need to moddel all this details into your mesh.
However you would like modell it out you should only care about n-gons in areas which will be influence by movement.

I agree with Theht ... Some stuff in modeling are better to make at texturing/rendering. Normalmap, displacement, and bump if needed :)
