You could also optimize your images more to speed things up.
194k is awful heavy for a 640x480 image.
http://ukdavid.no-ip.com/danb/djbsgraphics/3dwork/terrain.jpg
You could get it down to about 40k and before you notice any artifacts.
the same problem here,I have comcast about 3000 kb/s and take for ever to load.

Not bad considering your age.
Some suggestions:
Play with more colours, contrast can sometimes bring in good effects.
Try pixel fonts, much clearer.
Hope that helps :)

very clean and simple site.
the flash is a bit wasted though =(
theres no animation anywhere...
and yes it took me about 1 minute to load the site
What I don't understand is,why the loading kinda flash bar thing is for? because show is loading an animation (flash?) and then you enter to a page with no animation, also an image 290 kb load little by little, biside that, the page is well organize and clean.
all the best.

I have a fast internet connection and the first swf had 1:46 min.
Make the main swf more smoll.
On the render, put the title of the render, the 3d program, and the render´s time.
On the first html, put that is a Daniel Baiton´s Portfolio, or anything, ¿what is the web?
Put the meta name description, keywords, and more meta names.

What's the purpose of having a 'leave' link on your splash page? Don't you want people to stay?

nice start here. i definetly agree, take the "Leave" off the splash page. it does take a long time to load, how big is the background graphic? i love your 3d work and you are hiding it with the background graphic. i think your site gets lost. could you recreate the bg in flash or illustrator?
