Here's an illustration I did last year between the last two matrix movies.

I was excited about the movies and I thought that Niobe's character design was a good one. I would have liked it if she had been in more of an action/fight scene, but since she wasn't I thought I would do my best to illustrate her in, what I thought was, a dramatic scene.

More recently, I took the illustration into Painter, and I started adding some color by using the oil pastel brush. I might not work on it much for a while, but i would like to know what you guys think of it, so far. I would highly apreciate any suggestions/crits that you might have. It's still a work in progress, but don't let that hold you back from saying what you think. I'm sure it will help me greatly.

Here's Niobe on a quick and slopy (black) background.

This is Niobe with the original background...

Hey, Acomicworld, I think that you should add some color to your highlights because they look to white. Maybe add some green like you did on the dark spots ( good idea by the way).

Just some thoughts...

Thanks acomicworld

I'll take that into consideration. Nice catch on the green highlights by the way. I wasn't sure it anyone would really notice that.

When I get a chance to work on it I'll take your thoughts into consideration. That is something that bothered me too, but like I said, it's still a work in progress...

Thanks again

Hey acomicworld, I agree with acomicworld too. What he said about the highlights being too white is true. The idea of adding green to them might work, but what also might work is depending on what time of day this is taking part in. You might want to include those colors in the highlights and shadows.

On a good note, however, I like the composition, and the perspective you used. The color is looking good so far, but it might be a different story by the time you're done. So don't do a sloppy job with the background. He he he...
