Hi everyone,

Trying to get mental ray for maya to show me the render times in OS X. I have tried turning on the extra verbosity setting in the mental ray tab but nothing there.. also have checked the console window but no luck there, also checked here for other similar messages but the one I found said there is a 'Output Settings' tab somewhere in the render globals but I am not seeing that, just the 'translation' tab. If you can help I would appreciate it. Render times are definitely(-sp) important.

-ps - using Maya 5.01 with supplied mental ray

So how DO you do it? :)

on OS X, you have to open the system console under /applications/utilities/
there is a 'console.log' listed that has the mental ray information.

you can only see the render times if you have previously turned on 'progress messages' or 'info messages' under the mental ray render globals.. these are under the 'Translation' pulldown menu.

you can also see this log in the apple system profiler logs (console.log)
