What is it? I'm reluctant to download and install if I know not what it is. Thanks for any info.

I still don't understand what it does. What does quantizing points do?

Sorry, I thought it explained it better in there. Quantizing is where you force points to be at certain grid points. If you set X,Y,Z to all equal 1m then all the points head to the closest 1m mark. Makes your sphere look like the attached image.
For me it stems from digitizing audio. The reason people claim digital isn't as good as analog in audio is because you have to quantize your sound waves when it is digital, resulting in steps in the curve instead of a smooth curve because it snaps points to nearest point as defined by the quantizer.

Ahhhh. Yes your image and digitizing audio speaks to my language. Thanks man.

No problem. I would imagine a person wouldn't want to do it as extreme as my example, but I can see some value to doing it at 1cm or 1mm values.

Yes.. It can serve you as very fast Snap tool where hundred or thousands points are snapped to grid at once..
This new version is apparently interactive. Would be good to give it a whirl, but looks like just a PC version to start with. Hopefully the Mac should follow. Many thanks TrueArt
