CGTalk - Mental Ray& 3ds max

So i installed mental ray 2...now when i start up max, it goes through all the loading procedures, with the small max window...but then the window goes away, and nothing else comes up...any ideaS?

what's the exact version of MRAY & the CONNECTION?

the version is 2.0, so it says in the prefrences...

i'm not sure what you mean by the connection?

when you use mental ray with max, you install connection software to translate the scene into the Mental Ray scene language. This software is free from Discreet... & should have come with MentalRay when you bought it (if you got it through Discreet). The procedure should have been install the mental ray renderer & then the connection software.
