Ok, This is the first time I've entered a competition, so be nice!

I've been watching the challenge so far and most entries seem to be land based beasts - so I thought that a sea 'beast of burden' might add more intrigue.

I've been working on a conceptual drawing which will be ready tomorrow as I have no time left today. In the meantime here is a quick sketch of my concept, not sure what it will be carrying yet!

P.S. Edited - original post date 9th July 2002

Below, is the finished concept, I won't say 'final' because I will probably change things as I model - For example add a little more detail to its body such as seat enhancements, an underwater light and extra baggage.

Anyway, hope you all like it!

I like the sketch, especially the bite taken out in the back. Looks like you've got the ocean largely to yourself in this contest.

You might need to rethink the harness a bit, as the reigns would interfere with the tail's motion.

Skortch - Yeah, I'm thinking of placing a horizontal wodden pole after its tail that keeps a fixed distance for movement. This will then go on to the pulling load...

Oz - Thanx 4 the encouragement.

Keep posting 4 advice and updates. I will start modelling soon.

IC4 - Thanx, I'm not much of a Star Wars fan, but I hope it doesn't turn out anything like those sea creatures in episode 1 - Can't see the connection myself but you never know.

AJ_23 - I'll start modelling this weekend - expect updates soon.

Thnx all.

I love the Pirhanna style fish you designed for your beast. Very cool. Also you've done a really nice job modeling it so far. I do have one crit though. I think you should rotate the harnes 90 degrees so the straps are at the top and bottom and not on the sides. I honestly don't think that they's work as they are right now.
Just my 2 cents. Great work so far

Ok, I'll give it a go - I kept the Straps separate so it won't be hard to alter. But - I must admit I think it looks more solid this way.

Will work on the Head more next!

cool...first fish beast I have seen! I think the harness would work better the way it is now...just be sure that what he is pulling is wider than the area that his tail fin would need to move freely! if you rotate the harness I don't see how his tail fin could move? just a thought!

Cool fish, need more aquatic beasts..like the shape and style of it too. I agree the harness has a better chance of working as it is.. I think the main problem is that putting a harness on a fish would be no easy thing I'd think, they're so aerodynamic. Maybe make another strap so it forms a loop around the fin? cinch it tighter?

Great replys guys keep them coming. Thanx

By the way I think I will add another strap below his side fin - Adds extra support! Expect some updates soon - mor detail.

I don't know what is happening as regards my BOB fish, I am currently doing work experience for a games company and so progress will be slow but I will finish it. Expect an update soon, already updated the head.
