View Full Version : mental ray depth of field tut not working
Gamoron 07-10-2002, 06:39 PM I'm working with the depth of field tuts for mental ray in max. with the default renderer, the maps on the obejects render out. With the mental renderer they don't. I can't figure out why.
Does anybody know?

is your material's type RAYTRACE?

no they aren't. I don't think they have to be. I don't think it's a problem with the materials. they work fine with the default, mental ray won't render them though. in other files it works fine, i think something is on or off that shouldn't be and i don't know what.

if you have an earlier version of the connection software, it could be your bitmap filtering, from memory it wouldnt accept pyramid filtering. What does your MentalRay log report?
