cant get a glow

From surface editor -> advanced -> glow intesity, turn this one up, and then from Image processing <ctrl-f8> enable glow and turn glow properties up. That should get you somekind of glow.

also are other plugins that might help you

superglow have diferents channels, i dont know how it works

and after glow (this one is free and you can set the color of the glow diferent from the color of the surface) (very cool)

Also test with Corona (Image Filters) is very versatile for this type of effects.
