This is an animation of two Orcs that I have been working on, as a project to help me learn to animate. I don't know what to do now, any suggestions or comments welcome.

P.S. This is DivX 4........

well the thing that needs most work imho is the charging orc.

His jump-style animation doesn't have any weight to it and is a bit too fast.

If I look at it frame by frame it actually looks nicer, so it certainly should be slower and have some more weight in it.

Also the movement itself looks a bit unlogical, especially hte first jump, it doesn't bring him that much closer to the other orc.'

Work on the timing and perhaps start it from scratch.

Ofcourse orcs instead of humans gives some freedom cos we dont really know how they should behave(LOTR is the best reference material for that :) )

Hope this was some use, the model itself looks nice, other than the arms and legs being a bit loose.

I looked at it again side on, and I see what you mean by no weight and too fast.
The first jump is about 1 meter, so I can't really make it longer, it could be the camera angle, that makes it look short.

Here's a view of the side on shot.

I used The LOTR TTT - extended DVD fight choreography training as my ref, it was only a few secs long but looked good, so I tried to copy that.

I'll have a play around with the speed and the weight, maybe add a bit more bend in the back on impact.

Thanks again for the input.
