here's an ogre I've been working on. he's still not done, but I figured I'd show him off a little and see what people think.

I have seen a lot of ogres on other forums, this one is nice, very original as orgres go.

This is good :) I don't have much to say... the nose, the wrikles, the mouth...everything is very well done... hummm... what's with the eyes, are they closed or he just has really small eyes ?

yeah, I was going to mention something about the eyes...
his eyes are closed at the moment. I'm planning to rig the face all up and move it around, so I modeled the lids shut so they would be easier to skin.
hopefully that will happen soon, then I'll post some pics of various facial expressions.

That is a really nice model - good execution. It's good to see such a wicked range of styles and talents on this forum. I am really impressed with the quality of everything I have seen.
Makes me want to work harder :D

Good stuff! Can you post a pic of the wireframe before smoothing. I would love to see how you handled the wrinkles.

but its teeth have just posed on its mouth you should inflate his lips has this levels...

keep in mind he's still in progress, so don't thrash me too hard.

Whoah. Nice job! Ogre as envisioned by Bernini. Very cool.
Toes look a little cramped at the end of the foot, but otherwise a stellar job.

maybe if you flattened the foot a little and lengthed the toes?
you know its good if someone is suggesting changes to the the toes :D
do you have some close up images of the upper body and also of the hands (they look real good)?

I think it looks great but the head could be a little bit bigger. Thats just my opinion though. Great work

whoa... when i saw the head i thought "dudes pretty good"... then i scrolled down to the bottom and saw the body and was like "crap, dudes really good."
my only crits are the incongruous combo of the head and body and the muscle striation across his pecks. separately the head and body are both very nice, but together i feel the head detracts from the splendor of the body. the neck muscles seem to call out for a head/head placement more akin to Blur Studios "pit" character, Greg Capullo's "Creech" or if nothing else at least a larger head. as far as the muscles striation across the chest the top line seems cool but the way the lower one cuts across the nipple so deeply seems to detract from the form.
fantastic model. love the direction your heading in, and echoing the calls of others... post some wireframes... pretty please.

Just a littl' question : did you tweak the lips : what mickatt said was true, I dunno if you fixed it (apperently not, but I cannot say, the picture is quite small).

to answer some questions:
yes, technically he could be animated... I've got him mostly rigged up, that's how I posed him. but since I'm not an animator, I personally wouldn't want to animate him ;)
and yes, I did change the lips to match the teeth some more. here's a new pic of his head so you can see better. oh, and I finally opened his eyes so they don't look so tiny (of course, they're still pretty small, but that's what I was going for)

the thing is that, just a week ago I made a 2D that looks kinda like this.
I see the WHOLE community is SHOOCK up by the orc/ogre/troll idea. I like it! But if a begginer attempts to do some of those chars he'll be accused with compying and stuf.
Anyways REALLY REALLY REALLLLLLLY good! dimensions of the body..off the Scale :D

I know that he's supposed to have extreme proportions, but I don't think it fits together! He looks like he's 3 different characters stuck together! I think, smaller hands/feet and a bigger head! ..not by much, but I definietly think it's too extreme at the moment! ..other than that, GREAT modeling! ;)

I like these exagerated proportions. I think it could work quite good in some extreme Dof shots.
Are you going to texture him as well?
And how about the rig. Some nice muscle expressions would be great.
