Oh, I'm not excited. The guy hasn't made a decent flick since "Hard Boiled". But it is industry news.

face-off was oooo.k. i don't own it(let's put it that way). But lately all he's movie just suck. the last movie he did paycheck... more stupid birds.

i'm not how he's going to make metroid interesting. samus is by herself!

I think if Woo were to make this it would be terrible. I agree with Jishjosh that he hasn't made a decent flim in quite some time. Also think of the last time someone made a movie that was based from a video game and it was good. I have a hard time thinking of at least one. I love the metroid games, but I think they should stay that...games. It shouldn't be brought into the film world to be butchered.

personally, i don't think a Metroid movie would do good at all. Metroid has always been about you by yourself, shooting, jumping and surviving. yeah, there is a storyline, but nothing you can add additional characters to. the only movie like Metroid would have to be Aliens, and even then, there was always at least 3 main characters running around.

Predictions for Metroid the Movie:

- Metroid will be played by an up-and-coming model/actress who, for no reason at all, will often appear not wearing the Metroid armour, despite the fact that the only reason we see any of Samus' flesh is when she died or part of the end sequence.

- There will be a sappy British love interest from someone in Samus' past, despite the fact that she was orphaned and raised by the decidely non-human Chozo and has spent most of her life hunting the Space Pirates (which are lizards)

- There will be only one Metroid, a decidely large one, that will be part of an overly expensive and pointless CG sequence, the end of which will make it appear that the Metroid will did not die (probalby crushed by something large) to leave the door open for Metroid 2.

And so on.

Mother Brain should appear as she did in the 80's TV show "Captain N".

Everything else should be done as realistically as possible.

Dasleah: Probably a very accurate description!

It's a very difficult story to put to film, plus it's not as widely known to the general public as some games. I guess Woo can't have doves in space, but there will be ample opportunity for a space pirate 3 gun stand-off.

They've already destroyed Alone in the Dark by setting it in modern day. They're getting Alice done by Wes Craven, and Resident Evil could have almost worked if the script wasn't so bad.

My only hope now is the Silent Hill movie, which actually has input from the original design team!

I guess we can only wait and see...:hmm:
