How long did the rendering take ??
It was rendered at 3500x2526 pixels for printing on a dual 733 and it took about 50-55 hours i think.
Hereīs a smaller render with not so much DOF and you see the rendertime at the bottom of the pic

@grid
I think 50-55 hours is okay for an image of that size.
I like your picture very much - simple, colourful and interesting :xtreme: - Why not send it to Vray's gallery ?

HEY...
I have never seen such realistic glass - not very often in fact.
Did you use an enviroment map ore a real 3d 3nviroment based on objects and light.
Great work!

Wow, that's excellent :applause:
You said it was for printing - what is it being used for? An advert?
I think everything in it is perfect, no crits from me at all.
The glass texture is particularly well made :)
Really great work, Grid, well done

You need some finger prints and or smudge marks in the glass.

That's impressive, 100% photorealistic to me. Vray has very impressive caustics and fog, the depth of field render in it is second to none, the only drawback with Vray is that the GI is very poor. Fantastic work! That's better than the images in Vray's gallery, keep it up!

GRID- you did a great job....so i decided to try to duplicate this with Brazil R/S. just to see how they compair...just to let you know this is only the 3rd thing i've rendered with Brazil so obviously i have alot to learn.
I only spent 10 min. modeling and texturing (and it shows.)
Then I spent another 10 min. getting the render settings right.
this render was 914x666 on a duel amd1600
7hrs. 30min.

Hello GRID, stunning render.
I have a question concerning the DOF - The two renders you show have different DOF values. Did you use the Lenscare Photoshop plugin or a beta of the After Effects plugin for the DOF in the first image? Was any Vray DOF used in the final image? I noticed your image in the Frischluft (http://www.frischluft.com/) gallery. It looks very exciting. I was surprised at the number of other images in their gallery that I recognized !
Good stuff !
jd
impending: the pics iīve posted here have vray DOF, and it was after i posted here the dude that makes lenscare contacted me about makeing the pic with lenscare.
