View Full Version : Bink (.bik) format and Macromedia Director
erilaz 04-06-2004, 04:24 AM Hi all,
Radgames used to have an xtra for director that supported bink format, which is now discontinued. I was wondering if anyone has worked out a way to use the format within director, including activex controls if necessary.
It's a long shot I know...:)

Hmmm. Last time I did a Director presentation, I had to play a fullscreen MPEG-2 video (back when MP2 was new, and you needed hardware to run it) from the presentation using nothing but Lingo - no Xtra, no SDK, nothing!!
What I had to do is run the video file from Lingo using the 'open' or 'exec' command (not sure if correct). See this article ...

Might work, but will need the Bink player/codec installed on the users machine ...
